The STARESO marine station (STAtion de REcherche Sous marine et Océanographique), located in Corsica, is a specialist of environmental monitoring (benthic macrofauna, Posidonia oceanica, physical and chemical data…) and leads the Program STARECAPMED (STAtion of Reference and rEsearch on Change of local and global Anthropogenic Pressures on Mediterranean Ecosystems Drifts) which goal is to understand the fundamental processes that govern the functioning of the different coastal ecosystems of a Mediterranean bay and the response to the current, local and global changes under anthropological pressures. Its global target is to establish a reference site on long-term to understand the processes of the evolution of the Mediterranean ecosystems. It is tightly associated with various academic institutions, particularly with University of Liège (Belgium).
